It was time to pull back the string...;) He chose a good spot to go down. 26 yard shot, and he went about 30 yards after a perfect double lung shot. Probably the most fun I've ever had hunting elk with the bow was this season. I'm happy! My wife is REALLY happy..grin! DIY-Solo-Private

100 grain Slick Trick. A tip I'll pass on when you're gutting a critter with a broadhead floating around in the cavity...no cut fingers this time, knock on wood.

Good deal.
I've done the gutting thing with a broken arrow shaft and lost broadhead. I can see a guy getting cut real easily.

Pat; Good evening to you sir, I'll dispense with my usual salutation as I surmise from the photo that you're well!
Hopefully your fine family is well too Pat.
Congratulations on another fine bull, I'm another member here who looks forward to seeing what you've caught during each fall's season.
If you're so inclined, I'm curious if the subspecies there are Rocky Mountain or Manitoba elk?
Again going off of foggy memory, I believe I was told that the elk in the Cypress Hills area were Manitoba, but then I could be wrong about that too since I believe the herd there was a re-introduced one.
Anyway sir, thanks again for sharing the hunt and photos with us and all the best to you and yours in your remaining hunts this fall.
Dwayne

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.
